What's on the Fourth Floor?
Officially, we don't exist.

How to find us
We exist within the liminal space.
Tetraphobia; the fear of the number four. A superstition whose roots run deep throughout history and lore. In Japanese the word for four, shi, is identical to the word for death. So across East Asia, in many buildings the fourth floor is simply omitted. Lifts skip from three to five. The fourth floor doesn't appear, because officially, it doesn't exist.
The Fourth Floor exists outside of the ordinary, for those who know where to look.
"For everything else, there's everywhere else. On the Fourth Floor, only extraordinary will suffice."
The Mark of Extraordinary
Certified by Fourth Floor.
Not a marketing badge. Not awarded generously. Reserved for the extraordinary.
What It Means
Anything that bears the Fourth Floor Mark must meet four strict criteria. It must be personally tested and performed by Lloyd Barnes to real people. It must be original. It must advance the art of magic. And it must be extraordinary.
What It Is Not
The Fourth Floor Mark cannot be bought. It's not a paid endorsement. It is not given to friends. It can only be earned.
The Four Classifications
All four. Without exception.
Classification 01
Original
Without question, the creation must be original and bring something new to the table. No imitations.
Classification 02
Advance
The effect must advance the art of magic. The landscape of modern often appears bleak with artists trying to drag us back to the dark ages.
Classification 03
Real
Must be able to be performed live, in front of a real audience, where nothing is controlled. If Lloyd hasn't or wouldn't perform it himself, it does not pass.
Classification 04
Extraordinary
Finally, there must be something extra special, something extraordinary about your creation. Certain pieces of wonder have a synergy that can't be tangibly explained that makes the hairs on the back of your audience's neck stand up. This is what extraordinary is and that's what we look for.
When you see the Fourth Floor Mark — all four classifications have been satisfied. No exceptions have ever been made. No exceptions will ever be made.
Why We Exist
An agency. Not a shop.
The magic industry produces a staggering volume of material. Unoriginal magic. Falsely advertised products. Extraordinary is rare. Fourth Floor exists to place a microscope upon the 0.001% of Magic that is exceptional. The anomalies. Each curated item is personally tested, performed in real conditions, verified by Lloyd Barnes.
No false idols. No false promises. Only the gold without compromise.
You cannot buy the Fourth Floor Mark.
Curated personally by Lloyd Barnes.
Extraordinary is the standard, not a marketing technique.
The offerings grow slowly. An empty archive is an honest archive.
Here you will discover true wonders.
Why the Fourth Floor is Different
Curated by Lloyd Barnes
Lloyd has made his mark on the art of Magic by being a leader and authority in shaping the future landscape of Magic.
The Certification Mark
Three classifications. No exceptions. Earned by the extraordinary.
Discovery Over Promotion
Fourth Floor doesn't push products. It's an ecosystem that directs fellow travellers to the gold.
Pareto
Less is more. The Fourth Floor removes the paradox of choice from your field of view.
Lloyd Barnes is a professional magic creator. As a leading authority in the art and industry of Magic. Lloyd's extremely unique effects have allowed him to reshape the landscape of Magic as we know it today. His relentless pursuit for boundary pushing magic creations have allowed him to create his way out of a sleepy coastal town in South Wales, UK to every corner of the globe. Working with and creating for the greatest living magicians of our time.
"The Fourth Floor was unlocked because Lloyd grew tired of the white noise. He wanted a space where every decision was deliberate. Everything was created and curated by someone who LIVES the art and not by people trying to make a living from the art. An elusive space, open to all who are willing to look closer.
I didn't design the Fourth Floor. The Fourth Floor built itself. I just unlocked the door."
— Lloyd Barnes, Founder

The Team Behind The Fourth Floor.

PigCake

But what most people don't know about Cake is that behind the scenes, he runs a tight operation at his own warehouse facility, shipping magic goods around the world. Thousands of you don't even realise at times that he's the man responsible for getting your brand new magic products physically into your hands. Fourth Floor is proud to have PigCake as a cornerstone of our global logistics operation.
Global Logistics
US & UK Shipping Warehouses.
Although the Fourth Floor exists in the liminal space, we can't operate without physical warehouses. We have two warehouse facility locations — one in the UK and one in the US — meaning that we can get your mystery packages delivered to you quickly, wherever you are in the world.
